“One day our patients will be able to tell their own stories, and we will no longer have to convince naysayers that deaf children can listen and speak.“
- Richard T. Miyamoto, M.D.

… and that is why we do what we do. Because, ultimately, it’s not about US, it’s about the children. It’s not about OUR skills, our OUR knowledge, but about the potential that is inside each and every child, if only they had the ability to listen and speak and share it with the world. Today we will teach them, tomorrow, they will soar.

This touches my heart. I love Dr. Miyamoto, who implanted my Elliot at 9 months of age back in 2001… mainly because we wanted him to (and he thought it was a great idea).
Dr. Miyamoto, Sr., may have recently had health issues, from what I’ve heard, and I’ve been praying for him. He is very dear to us.

I came across this, too. This is just the kind of man he is:

Wow. I just love that. Generosity is “building a cathedral for your soul” — brilliant!

Yeah… I love that guy. I am planning to have Elliot send him a card. He needs to know what a great impact he had!
