Rachel and I met Nicole at Cochlear™ Celebration 2009 in Anaheim, California.  Nicole is a student who hopes to pursue a graduate degree in nursing.  She is also a talented dancer who has performed with many professional companies as well as shared her love of dance with deaf and hard of hearing children at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES), a School for the Deaf affiliated with Gallaudet University.  She volunteered for over four years with KDES and the National Deaf Dance Academy.

The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of Nicole LaMont and do not reflect the views of Cochlear Implant Online or its writers.

Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your story with us!
